Your sleep environment is quiet and comfortable. You do not practice any thrilling activities like sport before sleeping but you have difficulties falling asleep? Sleep is both influenced by circadian rhythms (biological cycles of approximately 24h) and by physiological needs, yet, some people’s sleep cycles seem consistently phase shifted compared to others.
Studies showed that those rhythms were genetically influenced. You hence cannot decide to be a “night owl” or an ”early bird”!
Therefore, it can be helpful to follow your own sleep rhythms if it is possible : going to bed when you feel sleepy and wake up later. If it is not, you could try the sleep techniques to fall asleep earlier and/or the smart alarm, to wake up easily.
